VS Cookies

Today we are going to compare two cookie recipes!

All Recipes.com's Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

VS

Instructables Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies

Round 1 -All Recipes.com

I gathered together all of my ingredients and melted my butter to let it cool.

Creamed the sugar and the butter together.

Added the egg plus yolk.

Sifted the dry ingredients and added cinnamon. I pretty much do this to every cookie recipe because I find it gives cookies some extra oompf!

Add dry to wet and mix to combine.

Next add chocolate chips...like my artsy photo of the slowly cascading chocolate chips?

Mix in chocolate chips.

Drop Tblsp sized cookies onto a baking sheet.

Bake for 15 mins.

Mmm lots of chocolate chips!!

Enjoy with milk!

Review: This cookie was not a big fat or chewy cookie as the recipe proclaims; I think it's the melted butter. The cookie was flat and crunchy, not chewy. It wasn't bad my husband and I ate a couple (dozen...) cookies but they weren't satisfying our ooey gooey chewy taste buds.

Round 2 - Instructables

Gather all of your ingredients.

Cream butter and sugar.

Add eggs: Note I used two eggs and one yolk.

Start the process of unwrapping your million packages of chocolate.

Add dry to wet and mix until incorporated.

Chop the chocolate roughly.

Add chocolate to batter...notice how it looks like the chocolate to cookie batter ratio is 2:1.

Incorporate chocolate to cookie dough.

Now comes the worst, yet apparently necessary part of the recipe. Divide the dough for chilling...sigh.

Wrap the cookie dough into logs and place in the refrigerator for 24 hours...I know it's awful, the only thing that will help you through this awful time is the cookies you made from round 1.

Take the dough out of the fridge and unwrap.

Slice into 1/2 inch sections

Sprinkle cookies with sea salt

Take artsy photo of said sprinkled sea salt

Bake for 5 minutes, then rotate and bake for another 5....look they're not even done and they look better than round 1's already!

Cool on a baking sheet for as long as you can stand it. I pretty much ate three about 2 minutes after they came out of the oven.

LOOK! Look at the chewy delciousness!!

Review: This recipe delivers when it says it is the Best Ever Chocoalte Chip cookie. Yes you have to wait 24 hrs which is probably it's only downfall, but it's also nice to keep some in the fridge and bake them when you run out so they're always fresh vs them getting hard and stale!

So the winner is (as if you couldn't already tell)

INSTRUCTABLES BEST EVER CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE!!
